Dear Visiting Students and Applicants:
Thank you for your interest in Stanford's Radiology program!
Stanford is an incredible place to train, offering an ideal location, an impressive faculty, world class research, and a collegial atmosphere that fosters learning.
Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the department has attracted the brightest faculty including world renowned leaders throughout all sections of the department. The faculty takes a personal interest in resident education making conferences and readouts outstanding. The faculty's interest in teaching and intellectual curiosity fosters a work atmosphere that encourages learning and cooperation between fellow residents.
If your interests go beyond clinical radiology into research, Stanford abounds with opportunity. The Lucas Center, a dedicated research facility next to the hospital with state of the art equipment, hosts dedicated research faculty working to constantly push the frontiers of radiology. In addition the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford offers incredible opportunities to explore this developing imaging modality.
The Bay Area has much to offer when not in the hospital. The weather is unbeatable allowing for year round hiking and biking. San Francisco is only 30 minutes away and in fact many residents who enjoy the city life live there and commute. Beaches are a short drive, and if you are looking for a weekend getaway Lake Tahoe skiing, Yosemite camping, and Napa Valley wine tasting are second to none.
I hope you have a chance to visit, either as visiting medical student or on interview day, to see for yourself what a great place this is.
Good luck!
